Blogging is just about the oldest type of web communication. The popularity of blogging changes over time. In the late 1990s, it was the fast track to page one of Google. Once social media emerged, blogs lost their priority. Today, services like Substack and YouTube or TikTok compete to be your content platform – proving that, as always, content is king. And unlike other platforms, you own your blog when it's at your website. Every post you make adds to website equity.
All platforms include blogging with a layout that adjusts easily for lots of images, a few images, or no images.
Within ProcessWire, open the document tree, find your blog and either edit the blog home page (to give it a custom name) or choose New to add a post to the blog. To edit any blog post, mouse over the post title and from the flyout menu choose Edit. All new posts get added to the top level blog page.
Your blog home page includes a spot to name your blog, choose a color theme for area shading for posts that don't include a feature image, and your choice of how many posts to display across horizontally.
Individual blog posts include an optional page top image, and all the usual blogging items: author, tags, feature image, and content. From the public end of the blog, there are sharing icons, previous/next post links, author details, and additional posts by that author.
